I've never played chess, but the chess-playing robot manning the Blue-collar Technology Research Institute (ITRI) booth at CES successful it look easily.
The robot uses a computer visual sensation system as well Eastern Samoa deep-learning features to lightly handle the chess pieces and oppose to the moves of its human opponent. Player and golem communicate via a tablet, with the robot frequently asking for time to think before IT decides on a move. The automaton's movements aren't perfect (it failed to set out a chessman when the chessboard was slanted), merely it still does genuinely well with gripping and precise movements. During the mindless time I was at the booth, the robot defeated its human opponent double.
But the automaton has a softer side, too: It served its opponent coffee as a demonstration of its vision system and dexterity. Though it was a trifle slow, the robot swimmingly filled the deep brown cup on the table without spilling a drop.
ITRI says it envisions the technology being utilised in assembly lines as well as in hospitals to care for the older.
